James Bernard Johnson, son of Wilhelmenia Olden Johnson and the late Willie James Johnson, was born August 10, 1969 in Sumter County, South Carolina. He departed this earthly life on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital, Columbia, South Carolina. He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and a graduate of Hillcrest High School with the Class of 1987. He first enlisted in the National Guard then later joined the United States Army where he served for 36 years. He leaves to cherish his fond memories: his mother, one son, siblings, other relatives and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 535 Duffie Road, Wedgefield. Celebration of Life Services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia.
