Catherine Lorraine (Floyd) Lytch peacefully entered eternal rest at her home in Sumter, South Carolina, on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Catherine was born on December 19, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Rosa Lee Floyd and Amos Cook. She was raised in Sumter, South Carolina, where she attended Sumter County public schools. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Joshua Baptist Church in Dalzell, South Carolina. Catherine spent most of her long career as a professional bus driver in Maryland and New Jersey. After returning to Sumter in 2009, she joyfully reunited with her church family and remained a faithful member until the Lord called her home. She was married first to Luvear "Ernie" Owens II and later to Walter Lytch, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Yolanda Levera Owens, and her parents. Cherishing her memory are her six loving grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, uncle, and a host of cherished cousins, relatives, church family, and dear friends. Homegoing Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Joshua Baptist Church, 5200 Live Oak Road, Dalzell, with the Rev. Eugene Dennis, Pastor. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 1065 Dyson Court, Sumter.
