Joseph Toney, affectionately known as “T-Buster” peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 24, 2026 at the age of 83. He was born on April 11, 1943 in St. Charles, South Carolina, to the late Gainey Toney and Leola Hannibal Toney. Joseph was educated in the public schools of Lee County and was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School with the Class of 1962 in Elliott, South Carolina. While attending high school, he drove school bus. At an early age, he joined Unionville AME Church, where he was a dedicated member and served in several capacities. Joseph joined the Masonry in 1982. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 372 Lower Lee School Road, Mayesville. Celebration of Life Services will be held 1:00 p. m., Saturday, August 1, 2026 at New Zion AME Church, 78 Elliott Highway, Bishopville, with the Rev. Jerome McCray, Pastor of Unionville AME Church, Presiding and the Rev. Alvin E. Webb, Eulogist. Interment will follow in the Unionville AME Church Yard Cemetery, 1330 Swimming Pen Road, Mayesville.
