Celebrating The Life 'Reflections' Rosa Ruth White was born on September 24, 1945 to the late Robert Lee Plowden and Gladys Plowden. She entered into eternal rest peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at her home. Rosa was educated in the Sumter County public schools. She had a passion for working in the manufacturing district. For 30 years, she worked in several companies including Charmhouse, US Textile, and Madison Zimac and an additional 20 years with Companion Care. Rosa joined Galilee Baptist Church serving on the usher board. She married the late Willie White Sr. and they reared four children. Rosa leaves to cherish her children, Verneice (Louis) Jefferson, Gladys White, Willie White Jr., Janice White; three sisters, Janie (Reggie) Brown of Washington, DC, Dorothy Plowden of Washington, DC, Mary Gibson of Georgia; three brothers, Leroy Gibson of Washington, DC, Robert Lee Plowden Jr. of Washington, DC, Leo Plowden of Sumter, SC and a special cousin John Porter Gibson, whom she considered a brother. She has twelve grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren to cherish her loving memory. She was preceded in death by two brothers, one grandchild and one great- grandchild.
