There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:14 Ms. Lakevia “KeeKee” Sherelle Durant peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the age of 34. Born on September 3, 1991, Lakevia was a beautiful light whose life was defined by love, compassion, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to her family. Although her time on earth was far too short, the love she poured into others and the legacy she leaves behind will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her forever. Affectionately known as “Kee Kee”, she possessed a spirit that could brighten any room. She was known for her warm heart, generous nature, infectious smile, and the genuine kindness she extended to everyone she encountered. She never hesitated to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or simply be present for those in need. To know Lakevia was experience unconditional love, unwavering loyalty, and sincere friendship. Above every role she fulfilled, Lakevia cherished being a mother. Her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment were her children. She loved them fiercely and wholeheartedly, dedicating herself to nurturing, protecting, and encouraging them through every season of life. The love she shared with them will continue to guide and surround them forever. Lakevia was also a loving daughter, devoted sister, treasured aunt, faithful friend, and beloved godmother. Family meant everything to he, and she found joy in creating lasting memories with those she loved. Her strength, even during life’s greatest challenges, reflected the courage and perseverance that defined her character. Though our hearts morn her passing, we are comforted knowing that her earthly suffering has ended and that she now rest peacefully in the presence of our lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Lakevia leaves to cherish her precious memories: her loving and devoted mother, Barbara Shaw; her father, Larry Durant; her bonus mother, Melody Wilson; her beloved children, Robert J. Brown, Ja’Zelle M. Johnson, Jaz’Lynn A. Durant Farmer and Jay’Len Z. Farmer; her cherished godson, Nathan Riley; her bonus children, Corianna Farmer and Cormaurion Farmer, her unwavering sister, Tia L. Durant; her beloved siblings, Jeremiah D. Durant, Faith A. Durant, and Tevia Gray; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by her love. Lakevia was preceded in death by her beloved grandfather, Paul Shaw, and her cherished grandmother, Shirley Holland, who welcomed her into eternal rest. Although she is no longer physically with us, the legacy of “Kee Kee” will continue through the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the beautiful family she leaves behind. Her laughter will echo in our memories, her kindness will live on in our hearts, and her love will remain with us always. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” ~ II Corinthians 5:8
