Catharine Henry Nesmith, devoted wife of Bishop Reon Nesmith, Sr., was born November 8, 1955, in Lee County. She was the daughter of the late Mae Belle Henry and Golden Hudson. Catharine departed this life peacefully on June 2, 2026, at the age of 70. Catharine was a 1973 graduate of Sumter High School. She earned her associates degree in Human Resources from Sumter Area Technical College in 1975. Upon completing her degree, she worked at Benton Dickinson-Sumter Campus until her retirement in 2011. Her memory will be cherished by her husband, children, siblings and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A. M., Wednesday, June 10, 2026 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter. Burial will follow in the Hillside Memorial Park, 2561 Cain’s Mill Road, Sumter.
