Rev. Retha M. Nelson, daughter of the late Leon Mungin and Everlina Porter, was born July 7, 1952 in Hollywood, South Carolina. She departed this earthly life on May 5, 2026 at Prisma Health Richland Heart Hospital, Columbia, South Carolina. Her precious memories will be cherished by her family, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be 2:00 – 6:00 p. m., Thursday, May 14, 2026 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter. Celebration of Life Services will be held 11:00 a. m., Friday, May 15, 2026 at Second Presbyterian Church USA, 1125 Old Pocalla Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Ricky Porter, Officiating, the Rev. Dr. Franklin D. Colclough, Eulogist. Burial will follow in the Faith Cemetery, 5346 Old Military Road, Adams Run, South Carolina.
