Inez B. Kennedy (affectionately known by her family as “Nell”) was born on November 21, 1940 in Mayeville, SC to the late John and Anna Burgess. On April 26, 2026, she gained her heavenly wings in Jonesboro, GA. Inez received her education in the Sumter County Public Schools and graduated from Lincoln High School. Inez was a lifelong and devoted member of Unionville AME Church. Memories of her love and life remain indelible with her children, family and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Unionville AME Church,1330 Swimming Pen Road, Mayesville, with Pastor Jerome McCray, officiating. Interment will take place in the Evergreen Memorial Park, 802 North Guignard Drive, Sumter. The family will be receiving friends at 348 Bagnal Drive, Sumter, on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 4 to 8 p. m. Public viewing will be 12:00 noon to 6:00 p. m., Friday, May 1, 2026, in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter.
