After an amazing and full journey on this earth, God called Mary B. Miller home on April 6, 2026, at the blessed age of 85. On March 8, 1941, in Mayesville, South Carolina, God blessed Frank Briggs Sr. and Lizzie Belcer Briggs with their youngest daughter, Mary Briggs. She attended Eastern High School and later obtained her high school diploma from Mount Pleasant High School in 1978. She continued her education by attending Central Carolina Technical College, where she pursued studies in Early Childhood Education. After spending nine seasons in Brooklyn, New York, Mary returned home to South Carolina, where for over 40 years she dedicated herself to the Wateree Community Actions Head Start Program. She leaves to cherish her memories: her children and a host of other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A. M., Saturday, April 11, 2026 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Arthur Lincoln, Presiding. Burial will follow in the Mayesville Community Cemetery, Highway 154, Mayesville.
