Sarah Elizabeth DeLay departed this life on February 13, 2026. She was born on March 7, 1944, in Sumter, South Carolina, to the late Maebell DeLay. Sarah received her early education in the public schools of Sumter County. She later continued her studies in Durham, North Carolina, further preparing herself for a life of service. She was employed at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, where she faithfully served for several decades. Sarah leaves to cherish her loving memories, a host of family members and friends whose lives were forever touched by her presence. Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 P. M., Saturday, March 7, 2026 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Joseph Ricks, Eulogist. Burial will follow in the Joshua Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, 5200 Live Oak Road, Dalzell.
