Thomasena Singleton, passed into eternal rest at the age of 76 on Sunday, March 1, 2026 while surrounded by her loving family. Thomasena was born in Sumter, South Carolina on March 26, 1949 to late Harry and Frances Singleton. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County District #2, and graduated from Ebenezer High School with the Class of 1967. Following graduation, Thomasena joined the Job Corps and moved to St. Louis, Missouri. She later moved to New York, an in 1976 Thomasena returned to Sumter and began working on Shaw Air Force Base at the military dining facility. She worked and retired from the dining facility after more than 45 years. Thomasena joined and was baptized at High Hills AME Church at a young age. She remained a faithful and vibrant supporter of her church and her Pastors until her health would no longer allow her to serve. She was bestowed the title of Trustee Emeritus after her many years of service to the church. She was also committed to her Sunday School Class and worked tirelessly with the Kitchen Committee. Thomasena leaves to cherish her memories: her three children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life services will be held 11:00 A. M., Saturday, March 7, 2026 at High Hills AME Church, 6780 Meeting House Road, Dalzell, with the Rev. Phillip Washington, Pastor. Burial will follow in the Church Yard Cemetery.
