Mozelle Brevard Lockwood, daughter of the late Moses and Rosa Brown Brevard and widow of the late Fulton Lockwood, was born on November 2, 1937 in Horatio, SC. She departed this earthly life on January 20, 2026 in Conyers, Georgia. Mozelle was educated in the public schools of Sumter County, and graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1954. She also attended classes at Allen University, Columbia. Later Mozelle went on to be a caregiver in New Jersey for almost 10 years, where she cared for a family and their children. After returning to South Carolina from New Jersey, Mozelle worked as a seamstress in Sumter County. Mozelle was an active member of Willow Grove A.M.E. Church, where she served in many capacities. She leaves precious memories to be cherished by her three granddaughters, other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life Services will be held 12:00 Noon, Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Willow Grove AME Church, 8105 Sumter’s Landing Road, Rembert, with the Rev. Dr. David Owens, Jr., Pastor. Burial will follow in the Church Yard Cemetery.
