Denise Bell was born March 24, 1982 in Sumter, SC to Bobby Hickman and Norma Jean Bell. “Neicy” as she was affectionately called received her formal education in the Sumter and Clarendon County School Systems. She was a very family oriented person, there was nothing she loved more than dancing, smiling, and spending time with her family and friends, focusing more of her time on her kids and grandkids. Neicy was a daughter, a mother,a grandmother, a sister, a niece and to many a friend. On January 20, 2026 God called Neicy from her earthly home in Sumter, SC. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Ruth Bell Bradford, James Hayes, Frances and Paul Beaufort,Willie and Mollie Polite. Those who remain to cherish her memories are two sons; Raheem Bell and Ikeem Bell both of Sumter, SC. two daughters; Shydeshia Bell of Sumter, SC and Kamya Washington of the home. Her mother; Norma Jean (Kevin) Bell of Sumter, SC. Her Fathers; Bobby Hickman of Alcolu, SC and James Polite of Bradenton, FL. a brother; Kenneth Bell of Las Vegas, Nevada. a sister; Courtney (Desmond) Briggs of Manning, SC. Her fiance’; Hakim Vaughan of Sumter, SC. Her grandkids; Zariah Funchess, Zaniah Funchess, Zanayah Funchess, Zamarion Bell, Zakari Price, Kymeir Price, Jahiem Torress and King Torress. A neice, three nephews. Favorite Cousins; Cynthia (Tyrone) Nathaniel, Kimberly Bell, and Victoria Prince. Best friend; Shameka Bannister. Family friend; Samantha Funchess. a host of aunts, uncles other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the John Wesley Williams, Sr., Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., with Pastor Barbara Snider, Officiant. Burial will follow in the Congruity Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 46B Highland Avenue, Sumter, SC.
