Etta Genever Mickens, also known as “Sap”, was born May 11, 1961to the late James and Elizabeth (Carrie Lee) Mickens in Lee County, South Carolina. She departed this life on January 17, 2026 at the home of her grandchildren. She was raised in Bishopville, where she graduated from Ashwood Central High School with the Class of 1980. Since then she has been living for her family, dancing and cutting a rug every chance she got. Her precious memories will be cherished by her children, brothers, sisters, other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P. M., Friday, January 23, 2026 at the Mechanicsville United Methodist Church, 184 Lake Ashwood Road, Sumter, with Rev. Angela Hampton, Pastor. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
