Dale Hayes, son of Shirley Hayes Hammond, was born on August 26, 1962, in Sumter, South Carolina. He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and dedicated more than 40 years of service as a well-respected professional painter, known for his skill, work ethic, and pride in his craft. He departed this life on December 31, 2025, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter, South Carolina, at the age of 63. Cherishing his memory will be his brothers, sister, other relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p. m., Saturday, January 10, 2026, in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with Bishop Marvin Hodge, Officiating.
