Catherine Belser, daughter of the late Ethel McDonald Vaughn and Herbert Smith Vaughn, was born February 17, 1944, in Sumter. Catherine entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. She grew up in Sumter and graduated from Lincoln High School. Catherine spent much of her early adult life in Baltimore, MD and Philadelphia, PA., where she gave her life to the Lord under the pastoral care of South Side Church in Philadelphia, PA. Later she returned to Sumter and became a faithful member of Clark United Methodist Church. Catherine worked for Bosch Battery Manufacturing of Sumter until she retired. Her precious memories will be cherished by her family and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends from at the home, 1171 Mineral Circle, Sumter. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a. m., Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Clark United Methodist Church, 2980 Highway 401 North, Sumter, with the Rev. Sarah Johnson, Pastor and the Rev. Jacob McLeod, Eulogist. Burial will follow in the Clark United Methodist Churchyard Cemetery.
