LaQuencia B. Hardwell was born May 6, 1968 to Evelyn Blocker, and the late John L. Louis Ford, and her step-father, Uriah Matthews, Sr. In her adult years, LaQuencia attended Grambling State University HBCU. Later on in life, LaQuencia started working in Corrections, where she continued for over 34 years. LaQuencia departed this life on November 15, 2025 at her home in Sumter, with her husband, Gerald Hardwell, Sr.; daughter, Amanda Hardwell; son, Gerald Hardwell, Jr.; and granddaughters at her bedside. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her family, other relatives and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 125 Burkett Drive, Sumter. Celebration of Life Services will be held 2:30 P. M., Saturday, November 22, 2025 in the John Wesley Williams, Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Dr. J. Elbert Williams, Officiating. Burial will follow in the Sumter Cemetery, 700 West Oakland Avenue, Sumter.
