Mary L. J. Woods was called home to eternal rest on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at her home in Sumter, South Carolina after a long courageous battle with an illness. She was born June 4, 1948 in Sumter County to the late Louise “Bloom” Richardson Jenkins and Steven Jenkins. She was a lifetime member of Mechanicsville United Methodist Church where she served as a dedicated and faithful member of the United Methodist Women until her health failed. She leaves her family, other relatives and friends who will cherished his memories. The family will receive relatives and friends from 3:00 to 8:00 p. m. at 2069 Gion Street, Sumter. Celebration of Life Services will be held 2:30 P. M., Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Mechanicsville United Methodist Church, 184 Lake Ashwood Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Angela N. Hampton, Pastor. Burial will follow in the Mechanicsville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
