
Moses Hudson, also known as “Red” by some of his classmates and peers, was born September 19, 1944, to the late Golden Hudson and Hattie Addison Hudson. Moses departed his earthly life on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 6:40 a. m. at his home with his beloved wife, Geneva McCoy Hudson, by his side. Moses was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and a graduate of Eastern High School with the Class of 1964. He furthered his career at Exide Battery Plant for 27 years before he retired. Moses was a lifelong Barber and a Bus Driver with Sumter County School District. At an early age, he became a member of Unionville AME Church where he served faithfully. His precious memories will be cherished by his wife, children, other relatives and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 988 Rebecca Cove, Sumter. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p. m., Friday, October 17, 2025 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m., Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Unionville AME Church, 1330 Swimming Pen Road, Mayesville, with the Rev. Jerome McCray, Pastor. Burial will follow in the Church Yard Cemetery.
