Welcome to Williams Funeral Home

Manwello Fritzgerald Brown, Sr., affectionately known as “Manning,” was born on September 4, 1976, to Vermell J. Brown and the late Joseph V. Brown. On July 24, 2025, God granted him peace that surpasses all understanding. Manning’s love for music began early at St. James Holiness Church, where he played drums and sang. His musical gift and passion took him across the world, ministering and sharing his talent until his final days. He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Sumter High School, Class of 1994. Afterward, he attended USC Sumter, where he reconnected with the love of his life, Lora A. Johnson-Brown. Manwello proudly served in the United States Army from May 1996 to April 2000. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, children, a host of other relatives and friends. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 107 Burkett Drive, Sumter. Celebration of Life Services will be held 10:00 a. m., Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Grace Cathedral Ministries, 60 Oswego Highway, Sumter, with Bishop Anthony Gibson, Pastor. Burial will follow in the St. James Holiness Church Cemetery, 3655 Myrtle Beach Highway, Sumter.
