
On Thursday, June 19, 2025, Gary Sanders gained his wings and took flight to his Heavenly home. Gary was born January 8,1960 to the late Ethel McCoy-Sanders and John “Bill” Sanders. Gary was the youngest of seven children born to their union. Gary was raised in the Rembert community. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined his family church, Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church located in Rembert, SC. Gary is a 1978 graduate of Hillcrest High School. After high school, Gary joined his beloved United States Marine Corps, where he achieved through faithful and dedicated service, the rank of Cpl. During his tenure with the United States Marines, and serving his country for 3 years, Cpl Sanders received several accolades. After being honorably discharged from the US Marines Corps., Gary worked numerous jobs from Dupont to construction until his health began to fail. Gary was a jack of all trades and the master of many. Over the course of the years, Gary was well known for working in the construction industry. Gary leaves precious memories to be cherished by his son, his daughter and many family members and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 4570 Excursion Drive, Dalzell. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p. m., Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, 7355 Camden Highway, Rembert, with the Rev. Dr. Anthony L. Taylor, Sr., Pastor. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church Yard Cemetery.
