Laquesta Rufus, daughter of Floyd Rufus and the late Mildred Scarborough, was born on August 7, 1987 in Tuomey Hospital, Sumter. She departed this life on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital, Columbia, after battling a long-term illness. Laquesta, affectionately known as “Quest”, at an early age gave her life to Christ at Asbury United Methodist Church, Lynchburg. In 2006, “Quest” graduated from Crestwood High School. She went on to attend Central Carolina Technical College and received a degree in Early Childhood Education in 2009. Quest leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories to her family and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 8 Plowden Mill Road, Sumter. Celebration of Life Services will be held 11:00 A. M., Saturday, May 10, 2025 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Pastor Ethel Richburg, Officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodman Cemetery, Shiloh Community, Lynchburg.
