Lillie Mae Josey Cooper was born July 23, 1954, in Sumter, to the late Johnny and Lillie Bell Josey. She was raised in Bishopville, and attended Lincoln High School. She departed this earthly life on April 18, 2025, at Highfield Gardens Care Center in Great Neck, New York. She leaves behind to cherish her memories a host of family members and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a. m., Thursday, May 8, 2025 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter with the Rev. Jake Sanders III, Eulogist and the Rev. Dr. J. Elbert Williams, Officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mark Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, 510 Manville-Wisacky Road, Bishopville.
