Dorethea Debretta Hagans, 61, was born in Redfox, Kentucky on December 11, 1963 to the late Arvel K. Hagans, Sr., and Naomi Robinson Hagans. She departed this life on April 11, 2025, at home, surrounded by loved ones. Dee received her education in the Public Schools of Sumter County and graduated from Sumter High School with the Class of 1981. She went on to earn a Master Degree in Human Resource Management and served in various roles within the education system in the states of Maryland and South Carolina. Dee was a lifelong member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, where she served in different capacities. She leaves cherish memories to her mother, family members and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A. M., Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at St. Paul A. M. E. Church, 835 Plowden Mill Road, Sumter. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park, 802 North Guignard Drive, Sumter.
