
Helen Dyer, affectionately known as “Lucky,” passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 14, 2025. Born on December 10, 1949, to the late Bennie Wright and Helen Pendergrass and raised by the late Bennie and Jean Wright. Helen attended Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and went on to build a fulfilling career, dedicating 30 years to McGraw Hill before continuing her work at Comcast until her retirement. In 2013, Lucky moved to Sumter, South Carolina to later marry the love of her life Ronald Dyer. She was employed with TJ Maxx where she was loved and appreciated. Her precious memories will be cherished by her family and friends. Memorial services will be held 1:00 p. m., Friday, March 21, 2025 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev.
