Liberty Gary (Libby) Mathis, daughter of the late Daniel and May Bennett Gary, was born in Camden, South Carolina on April 26, 1937. She departed this life on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, North Carolina. Liberty joined Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, becoming a long time and faithful member. She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Annie Mae Mathis, Richard (Valerie) Mathis, Vivian Cooper, all of Camden, SC and Carolyn (Willie) DuBose of Fayetteville, NC and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A. M., Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, 9250 Highway 521 North, Rembert, with the Rev. Freddie Thomas, Pastor, Eulogist. Burial will follow in the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Yard Cemetery. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 1051 Gary Road, Camden, SC.
