Mattie Estell Lindsey (née Kind), 86, of Sumter, SC, passed away on December 6, 2024. Born in Sumter, she spent much of her life in Trenton, NJ, where she worked at the Division of Taxation and formed lasting friendships. She was a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church in Sumter. She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughters, grandchildren, other family members and friends. A wake will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 PM, Friday, December 13, 2024 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, 821 North Main Street, Sumter, SC. Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Saturday, December 14, 2024 at New Fellowship Baptist Church, 105 South Purdy Street, Sumter with the Rev. Dale Edwards, Pastor. Interment will be 10:00 A. M., Monday, December 16, 2024 in the Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, S. C. 29229. In lieu of flowers, the family requests acts of love and support for family members.
