On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, Ethel M. Dixon departed her earthly life. She was born November 16, 1972, daughter of Shirley A. McCauley and the late Timothy McCauley, Sr. Ethel was educated in the public schools of Lee County, where she graduated from Bishopville High School, Bishopville. She accepted Christ as her Savior and joined Mt. Olive A. M. E. Church, Woodrow. Ethel, as she was affectionately called, loved her family. She worked at Manchester as well as Target Distribution Center until she became ill and could no longer work. She leaves to cherish her life: her loving mother, Shirley Dixon McCauley; mother-in-law, Annie Mae Dixon; one daughter, Tangie (Kuri) Atkinson; three sisters, Beulah (Eric) Bradley, Shirley M. (Leroy) Wactor, Maxine Ann McCauley; nieces and nephews, Latasha, Anshalon, Tatyana, Kequonna (William) Sumpter, Shakeema, Ja’Quell, Ny’Zere, Saniyyah, Dorian; two great nephews, Anshalon Jr. and Kameron; one great niece, Anasti Sumpter, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Services will be held 1:00 P. M., Monday, September 23, 2024 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with Presiding Elder Dr. Herbert Temoney, Officiating, Eulogist. Burial will follow in the Colclough Cemetery, Dubose Siding Road, Sumter. The family is receiving relatives and friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p. m. at the home, 5405 Colclough Plantation Road, Sumter.
