Thomas “Larry” Myers, husband of Elissa Myers, and son of the late Franklin and Janie Ethel McMillian Myers, was born on July 10, 1960, in St. Charles. He entered eternal rest on Monday, September 16, 2024, in the comfort of his residence in Sumter. He was educated in Lee County schools and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School, Class of 1978, located in Elliott. Upon graduating, he received his certificate in welding from Central Carolina Technical College. Following obtaining his certificate, he took his construction skills to Georgia Pacifica until beginning his employment with Martin Color-Fi in 1985, which later became known as Formed Fiber Tech, located in Sumter, where he dedicated 37 years before retiring in 2022. Larry enjoyed anything related to baseball, fishing, and fixing things using a variety of tools. He was a faithful member of Unionville AME Church, where he served as a trustee, on the 3rd Sunday Choir and a Sound Room Technician. Most importantly, Larry loved his wife and family, had a strong passion for bringing loved ones together, and was always there to lend a helping hand to whoever was in need. Larry leaves to hold his most dear memories and to carry on his legacy: his loving wife, Elissa; daughters, Shanika (Carlos) Green of Baltimore, MD, and Corinthian Bracey of Douglasville, GA; sons, Derrick Wilson of Kensington, MD, Shavar (Shanekia) McCall of Sumter, SC, Brandon (Amber) McCall of Gastonia, NC, Thomas (Tiarra) Myers, and Evan Myers, both of Fayetteville, NC; sixteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Flossie Gaile of Hampton, VA, Lillie Boatwright of Columbia, SC, Janie (Roman) Williams of Orangeburg, SC, Catherine Myers of Mayesville, SC; sisters-in-law, Jessie Myers of Sumter, SC, Elisha McCall, Sheritta Joyner, Georgette McCall, all of Bishopville, SC, Shawn McCall of Florence, SC and Gretchen McCall of Sumter; brother-in-law, George McCall Jr. of Bishopville SC and a plethora of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m., Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Unionville AME Church, 1330 Swimming Penn Road, Mayesville, with the Rev. Jerome McCray, pastor. The Remains will be placed in the church at 10:00 a. m. for viewing until time of services. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park, 802 North Guignard Drive, Sumter. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 4 Scotkins Court, Sumter.
