Mrs. Emma Lee Williams, wife of the late Arthur Williams, departed her earthly life on July 12th, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey, Sumter, S.C. She was born on December 2, 1954, to the late Cleveland and Lillie Mae Gibson-McBride. She attended the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduate of Sumter High School, Sumter, S.C. She helped to raise many children in our family. She leaves to cherish those she raised and those that lived in the home to include; Carolina Gibson, Loutricia Gray, Richard Dean Bradley, Donald Johnson, Freddie Lee Grinnell Jr., Marcus (Jasmine) Grinnell, and Deshaun McGee, all of Sumter, S.C. and Melissa Ray of Baltimore, MD. In addition to those she raised her memories will be forever remembered by five brother-in-laws, Charles F. Williams, James (Glenda) Williams, Alexander (Bettie) Williams, Leon (Joyce) Lowery and Freddie Lee Grinnell Sr.; three sister-in-laws, Rosetta (James) Lowery, Henrietta Galloway and Johnnie Mae Small, all of Sumter, SC; two aunts, Susan (J.C.) Scott and Sallie McBride both of Sumter, SC and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, parents, and grandparents, she was proceeded in death by her mother and father-in-Law; Frank (Bessie) Williams; sisters, Martha Mae Ray and Lillie Ann Grinnell, and nephew; Joey Gibson. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 732 Branch Street Sumter, SC, with Bishop Harry Clark, Pastor. Burial will follow at the Bradford Cemetery, 1911 Georgianna Drive, Sumter, SC.
