Welcome to Williams Funeral Home

Leila Jean Brown Mayrant, the beloved daughter of the late Roscoe C. Brown Sr. and Henrietta Brown, was born on December 4, 1939, in Baxley, Georgia. At an early age, Jean joined Saint James AME Church in Baxley, where she served faithfully in several capacities. Jean completed her education in the Appling County school system in 1957 and subsequently moved to New York City to further her education. On June 5, 1958, she married Louis Mayrant. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Lisa and Sharon. The couple resided in New York City for 46 years. In 2003, Jean and Louis moved to Sumter, South Carolina, the childhood home of Louis. Jean remained a faithful servant of God, attending church services with her husband at Rafting Creek Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed. On June 21, 2024, God, in His wisdom, looked down into His garden and picked a beautiful rose. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m., Friday, June 28, 2024, at Rafting Creek Baptist Church, 3860 Highway 261 North, Rembert, with the Rev. Melvin Mack, Pastor.
