On October 9, 1948, God blessed the late John and Nora Richardson with their first-born son, Raymond Lee Richardson. On June 5, 2024, at Sterling Care Bethesda in Bethesda, Maryland, his spirit ascended to Heaven to the waiting arms of the Great Almighty. Raymond was born in Lee County and was educated in the Lee County public schools. Being reared in a Christian home guided him to join the Pine Grove A.M.E. Church, where he remained until he was drafted into the United States Army where he dutifully served his country stateside and in Vietnam. After completion of his service, he received an honorable discharge in 1970. Subsequently after his discharge, he moved to Washington, D.C. where he was employed at the Government Printing Office for several years. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Pine Grove AME Church, 41 Pine Grove Road, Rembert, with the Rev. Lorenzo Dinkins, Pastor. Interment will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery, Stuckey Town Road, Rembert. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home 8251 Black River Road, Rembert.
