Gardenia Robinson Burgess, affectionately known as “Cindy” 65, departed this life on June 4, 2024 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter, South Carolina. She was born December 2, 1958 to the late Charlie Robinson, Jr. and Carrie Gregg Robinson. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and a graduate of Sumter High School, Class of 1978. She also attended Central Carolina for early childhood development. Gardenia was a faithful member of Quinn Chapel AME Church, where she served on the Usher Board, Mass choir and adult choir. She was employed at Archway Academy, where she loved her children. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Monday, June 10, 2024, at Quinn Chapel AME Church, 2400 Queen Chapel Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Donna Jackson, Pastor. Interment will follow in the Whites Cemetery, Airport Road, Sumter
