Loretta W. Gamble, 86, the daughter of the late Susie Mae (Isabella) Williams, was born April 11, 1938 in St. Charles, South Carolina and was reared by the late Tom and Lannie Price Wilson. She gained her wings on May 15, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Loretta was formerly married to Joseph Lee Gamble, Sr. and was affectionately called “Bunk”, “Bunchie” and “Mu” by her children and loved ones. Loretta received her education in the public schools of Lee County. She was formerly employed by Sumter School District 17 and Gold Kist, Inc. from which she retired. Funeral services will be held 11a. m., Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Unionville AME Church, 1330 Swimming Pen Road, Mayesville, with the Rev. Jerome McCray, Pastor, Eulogist. Burial will be in the Unionville AME Church Yard Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 109 Dorcel Street, Sumter.
