On Saturday, May 6, 2023, Georgia Shentrell Dinkins departed this earthly life. She was born on August 30, 1981, the daughter of Sammie Dinkins and the late Shirley Young Dinkins. Her two sisters, Samathia Young Drayton and Cynthia Dinkins preceded her in death. She received her early childhood education from the public schools of Sumter County. Georgia graduated from Sumter High School, and later on in life, she moved to Charleston, where she lived and enjoyed her life. One of the things that we want everyone to remember about her is that she was a loving and kind person who would give you anything she had. She was the peacemaker and yes she loved to eat. One of her favorite things to do was going to her daughter’s house and playing with her grandchildren and watch her cook. She also loved to come to Sumter to spend time with her family and friends She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her daughter, Monique (Colby) Brown and two grandchildren, Amora and Averie Brown; her sons, Nathan Harris-Waynick and Anthony Gray; her sister, Carolyn (Raymond) Grant; her special friend, Lewis Graham; four aunts, Minnie Dicks, Willie Mae McLeod (god mother), Elaine Young, and Eartha Williams; three uncles, Bruce Young, Larry Young (Carolyn) and Frank Dinkins; special cousins, Michelle Strothers and Marshella Dicks-Prothro, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 614 Miller Road, Sumter. Wake services will be 5:00 – 6:00 p. m., Friday, in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter.
