Rosa Lee White Porter, widow of the late James Porter, departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 14, 2022 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter.. She was born on April 18, 1942 in Sumter, to the late Roney and Edna White. She attended the public school of Sumter County. Precious memories will be shared by her caring family: daughter, Connie Abrams (Silas); granddaughters, Elvira Polite (Robert), Quinnsetta Abrams; grandson, Joshua James; great grandson, Jervira Hilton, Zanita Davis, Kamira Polite, Robert Polite and Dontrell Polite; great-great grandchildren, Israel and Messian Richburg; sisters, Martha Ann White, Bertha King of Buffalo, New York, Betsy Keith, Lucile Lacey (James) of Syracuse, New York, Brenda Bry of Durham, N. C., Maggie Green of Sumter, S. C.; a sister-in-law, Joanne (Johnny Gore)Porter, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitations at the home, 4740 Cane Savannah Road, Sumter. Funeral services will be held 3:30 p. m., Saturday, November 19, 2022 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Reverend David Gillins, Eulogist, Rev. Dr. J. Elbert Williams, Officiating. The procession will leave the home at 2:45 p. m. Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery, Sumter.
