Leisa Johnson departed this earthly life on Monday, November 7, 2022 at Prisma Health Heart Hospital in Columbia, at the age of 61 years old. She was born on October 13, 1961 to the late Herbert Zuell and Rosa Johnson. Leisa dedicated her life to Christ and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Sumter, where she sung on the Sunbeam Choir and served on the Junior Usher Board. She attended the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from St. Jude Catholic School in 1979. She continued her studies at Midlands Technical College in Columbia. Lisa secured employment at Martin Color-fi, Standard/DSV, and Covenant Place all of Sumter, SC. Leisa leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Tinika Johnson of Sumter; one son, Franklin Ricardo of Sumter; three grandchildren, Chaquan McGee, Jaquan Johnson, and Timisha Johnson, all of Sumter; two brothers, Nathaniel (Patricia) Zuell and Anthony (Caretha) Zuell, both of Sumter; four sisters, Vivian Johnson, Juanita (Ronald) Rutherford, Carolyn (Tony) Cunningham, and Wanda Zuell, all of Sumter; two cousins raised as sisters, Vera McGee of Charlotte, NC and Faye McGee of Sumter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other surviving relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitations at the home, 315 Curtis Drive, Sumter. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Monday, November 14, 2022 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, 14 Brand Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Larry Barnes, Pastor, Eulogist. The procession will leave the home at 11:15 a. m. Burial will follow in the Hillside Memorial Park, 2561 Cain’s Mill Road, Sumter.
