Welcome to Williams Funeral Home

Eugene Rogers, of Bishopville, passed away on March 24, 2022, with his lifelong partner and spouse standing faithfully at his side. He was born to parents Edgar and Edna Rogers Sr., in Bishopville. Eugene received his education in the Lee County public school system. During his years of attending Lee County schools, he discovered a fondness for math and participated in athletics, where he excelled at football. Eugene began his relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age by joining New Zion AME church. As that relationship progressed, he later joined St. Mark Baptist Church, serving as a faithful member until his final day on earth. After graduation, Eugene made his career as a long-tenured employee at two local textile manufacturers located in Bishopville and Sumter. Two principles that Eugene lived by were "100% Effort and Dedication". Those principles were key contributing factors that gave him longevity as a model employee. Eugene loved sports, especially football, where his favorite team was the Pittsburgh Steelers and Michael Jordan, his favorite basketball player. He spent his free time watching various sports games live and on TV. He was also incredibly proud of assisting as a coach for the 1982 Fleming Middle School football team to an undefeated championship season. Eugene was always there to help relatives and friends with household projects, coaching, or whatever was needed of him. He married Louise, the love of his life, in 1969, who survives him. Eugene is also survived by sons, Timothy (Kristina) Bradley and Christopher Eugene (Deirdre) Rogers; granddaughters, Carrington Christina Rogers and Brooklynn Rosa Bradley; grandsons Timothy Carvell Bradley Jr. and Tobias Anthony Bradley; brothers, George (Linda) Rogers, James Rogers, Lewis Rogers; sister, Margret Rogers; special niece aka little sister Virginia Rogers; aunt, Louise Coleman; six sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law; several loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation at the home. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p. m., Wednesday, March 30, 2022 in the St. Mark Baptist Church Yard Cemetery, 510 Manville - Wisacky Road, Bishopville, with the Rev. Yancey C. Martin, pastor, Officiating. The procession will leave the home at 12:30 p. m.
