Welcome to Williams Funeral Home

Lakita C. Boyd, 35, affectionately known as “Cherelle” transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday February 12, 2022 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital in Sumter. Born on March 3, 1986, she was the daughter of Mary (Robert) Brown and the late Carl Goodman. She was educated through the public school system of Sumter, and graduated from Lakewood High School. Cherelle enjoyed learning and grew a strong bond with her mentors while attending school. Cherelle had a golden heart and would help anyone in need if she could. Her pleasant sense of humor and bold personality always made it an honor to be in her presence or simply have a conversation with her. She cared deeply for her family and friends. Saying Cherelle will be greatly missed is an understatement but knowing that she is at peace now helps with the healing process. Cherelle will always be loved and will always be in our hearts. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her mother; Mary (Robert) Brown; two children, Messiah and Mariah Boyd; one sister, Lakeenya Boyd; four brothers, Corey Boyd, Carlton Boyd, Demetrius Boyd, Robert Brown, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. In accordance with COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation. Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 – 10:00 a. m. at Bradford Cemetery, Highway 15 South, Sumter, with Pastor Louette Cabbagestalk, Eulogist. The procession will leave the home at 9:20 a. m.
