Daniel Lewis III, son of the late Daniel Lewis, Jr. and Mary Cooke Lewis, was born on June 21, 1968 in Lee County. He departed his life on January 30, 2022 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter. Daniel attended the public schools of Lee County and graduated from Bishopville High School. He was a member of New Haven United Methodist Church at an early age. He leaves to cherish his memories: six daughters, Sheleika Fortune of Mayesville, Danielle Lewis of Bishopville, Shakira Brown of Georgia, Danasia Lewis, Tykira, Kimyra Lewis, all of Sumter; two sons, Darius Stuckey of Dalzell, Daniel Lewis IV of Sumter; two step children, Jaquasia Scarborough of Bishopville, Davontae Adams of North Carolina; two sisters, Teresa Washington, Sydrina of Sumter; three aunts, Virginia (Isaac) Rufus and Rosa C. Mack of Dalzell, Jessie Mae Cook; two uncle, John Brunson of Queen, N. Y. and Bradford Cook of the hone; two nephews, Laquan Sumpter of Atlanta, Latroy Pearson of Sumter; two nieces, Jahaley Sumpter Ragin and Janancy Sumpter Ragin of Sumter; five grandchildren; two best friends, Billy and Samantha Bracey of Bishopville, and a host of other relatives and friend. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during all visitation at the home, 47 Cook Lane, Dalzell. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a. m., Friday, February 4, 2022 at New Haven United Methodist Church, 3159 Red Hill Road, Bishopville, with the Rev. Blondell Miller, pastor, and the Rev. Raymond Cook, Jr., Eulogist The procession will leave the home at 9:20 a. m. Burial will be in the New Haven United Methodist Church Yard Cemetery.
