Frank “Wookie” Williams, son of the late Deacon Jimmie and Ulease Bethune Williams, was born on September 7, 1956 in Paxville. He departed his earthly life on January 6, 2022. After the passing of his parents, at a young age, Frank was received into the loving home of Josh and Pearlie Mae Hannah. Frank remained there until becoming an adult. There Frank and Ervin Hannah grew up as best friends. Frank attended the public schools of Paxville and Sumter. Frank was affectionately known as “gangster Frank”. His passion was fishing every chance he got. Frank earned his living driving truck for various companies and working as a heavy equipment operator for Jake Timmons junk yard. Frank was a member of the Joshua Baptist Church, where, for a short time, he served on the Usher Board until his health prevented him from doing so. He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife, Jennifer; two brothers, Deacon Jimmie (June) Williams of Fayetteville, N. C. and Minister Ollie (Annie Mae) Hannah of Sumter; one step daughter; two step sons, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 5230 Cotton Acres Road, Sumter. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m., Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Joshua Baptist Church, 5200 Live Oak Road, Dalzell, with the Rev. Eugene G. Dennis, Pastor, officiating. The Remains will be placed in the church at 10:00 a. m. for viewing until time of service. The procession will leave the home at 10:30 a. m. Burial will be in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, 10075 Calvary Church Road, Pinewood.
