George Ann Shaver Taylor, daughter of the late Edith Taylor and George McQuilla II, was born on February 4, 1967 in Sumter County. She was called home to glory on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter. George Ann attended the Public Schools of Sumter County. She was a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Dale E. Edwards. She loved the Lord, her family and lifting others up in prayer. Her hobbies included cooking and feeding the elderly and others in the community. George Ann was a cook for over 30+ years. She was employed at Hardee's in her younger days. She then went on to become one of the grill manager's at McDonald's on Lafayette. From there she then transitioned to Morningside of Sumter where she retired after being there for 14 years. George Ann's spirit will live on through her two daughters, LaSaysha Kelley, Courtney Bradley and granddaughter, Autumn “Kootaboo” Kelley; a companion, Elijah Bradley; son-in-law, Marion Kelley of Alamo Heights, Texas; three maternal siblings, Charletta (Raymond) Taylor-Woods of Sumter, Patricia Billups of Austell, GA and Clarence Taylor of Columbia; her aunts, Gloria Taylor-Gallishaw, Mildred (Lucious) Taylor-Maple, both of Sumter, and Thomesena Taylor-Martin of Spartanburg; a host of her paternal brothers, sisters, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting tface masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 23 Victory Drive, Sumter. Funeral services were held 12:00 Noon, Monday, November 29, 2021, at New Fellowship Baptist Church, 105 South Purdy Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Dale E. Edwards, pastor. Burial was in the Walker Cemetery, Oakland Avenue, Sumter.
