Leon Way, son of Eva Way and the late Sumpter Way, departed his earthly life on Saturday afternoon, October 30, 2021 at Kings County Hospital, Brooklyn, NY. He was born on July 15, 1954 in Manning. Mr. Way relocated to New York City at a very early age where he attended the community schools of New York City. He later relocated to Brooklyn, NY and attended many churches in the community and did not miss a day. He was very kind to everyone. Those who he loved so much were his family: his mother; Eva Way of Manning; sisters, Louise McCrimmons of Westchester, NY, Helen Canty (Joseph) of Manning, Sumpter Jr. Way of Staten Island, NY, Genett Way of Brooklyn, NY, Okema Way of Staten Island, NY, Christine Way of Texas, Brenda Felder of Brooklyn, NY; three aunts, Christine Way of New York City, NY, Bertha Grinnell (James) of Sumter, Emma Jane Felder of Sumter; one uncle, James Grinnell of Sumter; numerous of nieces, nephews, special cousins and friends. In accord with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relative and friends during visitation at the home, 9329 Paxville Highway, Manning. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p. m., Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in the Paxville Cemetery, Paxville. The procession will leave from the home at 12:30 p. m.
