Barbara Oliver Moffatt was born December 15, 1958 in Mayesville. She was the youngest daughter of the late Carrie Smith. She was called to eternal rest on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Prisma Tuoma Health Hospital in Sumter. Barbara was a faithful member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in Sumter, where she also was a member of the church choir. Singing and cooking gave her great pleasure, along with seeing her grandchildren. She is survived by her two daughters, Antoinette Oliver and Carrie Oliver; her three sons, Shannon Oliver, Vincent Speed and Adrian Oliver Moffat; two sisters, Sandra Benjamin and Ruby Tomlin; two brothers, Ronnie Smith and Tony Smith; six granddaughters; four grandsons; three great grandchildren, with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation at the home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021 – 11:00 a. m. in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Daryl F. McGhaney, Eulogist, Rev. Dr. Daniel McGhaney, Jr., Pastor Emeritus, officiating. The procession will leave at 10:30 a. m. from the home. Burial will be in the Mayesville Cemetery, Mayesville.
