Earl Williams departed this life in the arms of the Lord on September 14, 2021. He was born to the late John Williams and Dorothy Boykin Scarborough in Lee County. He attended the public schools of Sumter County. After the passing of his father, he became a provider for his mother and siblings. Throughout his adulthood, he continued to be a supporter of family and friends. He was married to Corine Hudson Williams for 34 years. He was a great father to his children and a father figure to his nieces and nephews. Earl was a member of Union Baptist Church of Rembert, and also a member of a gospel group in his young adult years. His legacy will remain as we visit many prestigious and notable places he painted in Sumter, and throughout the state. He leaves his memory to be cherished by: his wife, Corine; one daughter, Carmen Williams of Sumter; one son, John Williams of Aiken; three grandchildren; John Jr., Arianna, and Nevaeh; three family members of the home, Christopher Womack, Shane Williams, and Demandra Womack; six siblings, Shirley Mae Williams, Martha Ann (Bernard) Stuckey, James "Hamp" Williams, James "Bud" Williams, Charles Williams all of Sumter, and Debroh (William) Truesdale of Fayetteville, NC.; four sister-in-laws; nine brother-in-laws, along with a host of other relatives and friends. In accordance with COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the homes, 15 Victory Drive, Sumter and 1199 Floyd Drive, Sumter. Visitation will also be from 1:00 – 6:00 p. m., Friday in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 – 11:00 a. m. at Union Baptist Church, 5840 Spring Hill Road, Rembert, with the Rev. Walter Robertson III, Pastor, officiating. The procession will leave at 10:20 a. m. from 15 Victory Drive, Sumter. Services directed by the Management and Staff of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter.
