Edward Gadson, son of the late Ransom and. Luellen Gadson, departed this life on Sunday, August 29, 2021. He was born in Sumter on October 20, 1941. He was an active member of High Hills A M E Church, Dalzell, where he accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior, and served faithfully as an usher until he was no longer able to do so. His unbounding commitment to his duties as a door keeper in the House of the Lord showed his faithfulness, not only to God, but to his church as well. He leaves to cherish his memories: two children; Darriel Gadson of Sumter, Priscilla (Leo) Singletary of Augusta, GA; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren;. his sisters, Elizabeth Alston, Sarah Davis, and Margaret Holloway; his aunts, Rosa Lee Hickson, Harriett Mims, and Margaret Blue; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Near and dear to his heart and engrafted, not by blood, but by love, Kevin Miller and Archie McDonald whom he held close to his heart and treated as his own. In accordance with the COVID -19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation at the home. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a. m., Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Kings Highway Community Park, 2035 North Kings Highway, Dalzell, with Rev. Keith Mays, officiating. The procession will leave at 9:20 a. m. from the home.
