Edna Mae Williams McLeod, 69, was born February 14, 1952 in St. Charles to the late Roman Williams Sr. and Louise Herrington Williams. She was called to eternal rest on April 26, 2021 at her residence. Edna attended the public schools of Lee County. After graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School, she attended South Carolina State University and studied Early Childhood Development. Edna worked as a substitute teacher for Orangeburg Consolidated Five. Any child that came across her path grew a bond that lasted forever. She leaves to cherish wonderful memories: her daughter, Dwanrhea (Derrick) McDonald of Orangeburg; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; five sisters, Sarah Rhodes of Orangeburg, Betty Williams, Bernice McNutt, and Virginia Carter of Sumter, Gloria Williams-Deas of Summerville; two brothers, Elijah Williams of Sumter and Roman (Jannie) Williams, Jr of Orangeburg; two aunts, Rosa Bell Smith of Baltimore, Maryland and Edna Lee Herrington of Columbia; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home, 821 Baysprings Drive, Sumter. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a. m., Monday, May 3, 2021 in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with Evangelist Anne Ruth McLendon, Eulogist, Pastor Mozella B. Isaac, officiating. The procession will leave the home at 10:20 a. m. Burial will be in the Mayesville Cemetery, Mayesville.
