Gloria Zuell, 58, passed in peace at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter, on Friday, April 2, 2021. She was born on March 12, 1963, the youngest child of Pearl and the late Herbert Zuell. Gloria attended the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Sumter High School, Class of 1981. She dedicated her life to Christ and was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church of Sumter, where she served on the Hospitality Committee. She loved her church and regularly invited and accompanied her friends to worship alongside her. She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Javaris Cortez Singleton of Clarksville, TN; her mother, Pearl Zuell of Sumter; two brothers, Nathaniel (Patricia) Zuell of Sumter, James (Caretha) Zuell; five sisters, Juanita (Ronald) Rutherford, Vivian Johnson, Carolyn (Tony) Cunningham, Leisa Johnson and Wanda Zuell, all of Sumter; an honorary granddaughter, Tajh’ Unique McDonald; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID -19 guidelines, the family is requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during all visitations at the home, 2330 Tolkien Lane, Sumter. Graveside services will be held 4:00 p. m., Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Bradford Cemetery, Highway 15 South, Sumter, with Rev. Dr. Cartrell W. Woods, Jr., officiating. The procession will leave from the home at 3:20 p. m.
