Janae Denise Rucker entered into eternal peaceful rest on Friday, March 19, 2021. Janae was born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Artis and Dorothy Haynesworth Rucker on June 24, 1973 in Sumter. She was raised and educated in Hempstead, N. Y before relocating to reside in Sumter in 1988 with her parents. However, Brooklyn was forever her home and always in her heart that she loved till the very end. Janae was affectionately called “Janie-Boo” by all of her family and “Janae” by close friends. Janae leaves to cherish her memories: four sons that she loved immensely and cherished till her transition, Keenen Rucker of Sumter, Korraan Williams of Orlando, Florida, Kalyntae Williams (Chrissy) of Fort Knox, Kentucky and Naseem Khaalid of Baltimore, Maryland; four loving sisters, Vivian Jett-Brown (James), Christine Rucker and Renee R. Davis (Jerome), all of Brooklyn, N. Y., and Naomi Rucker of Sumter. She also leaves a host of loving and dear family members including, two grandchildren and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, great niece, great nephews, cousins, friends and two very special and dearest of friends, Walter Bowman IV of Jacksonville, FLA and Shonda Gupta of Los Angles, California. In accordance with the COVID -19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation at the home. Memorial services will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 27, 2021 in the John Wesley Williams, Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with Elder J. Elbert Williams, Officiating.
