Mary Pearson Johnson, 62, was born on October 20, 1958 in Sumter County to the late Luther Josey, Jr. and Elizabeth Pearson (James) Mickens. She departed her life on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 surrounded by family in Rock Hill. Mary was educated in the public school of Lee County. She worked at T B Kawashima in Lugoff. In 1976, she married her high school sweetheart, the late Lucius Johnson, Sr. She gave her life to the Lord and served him faithfully. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Holiness Church, where she served as a leader in many positions. She leaves to cherish her memories: four children, Steven (Renata) Johnson, Angelia (Tracey) Talford, Felicia Johnson and Stacy Johnson; one step daughter, Tonya Scott; three adopted children, Keith Scarbough, Nakita and Hakeem Mickens; a host of siblings, Georgia Martin, Essie (Thomas) Baker, Etta, James, Lonell and David (Jacequaline) Mickens, Diane Johnson, Angela Century, Ray, James and Sammie Pearson, Victoria (Vern) Wilson, Rebecca (Robert) Mack, Sammie Davis, Rachel Davis, Henry Pearson and Edna Scott; twelve grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, godchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends at all visitation at the home, 4830 Cannery Road, Dalzell. Funeral services will be held 3:30 p. m., Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Mt. Calvary Holiness Church, 771 Central School Road, Rembert, with Pastor Maggie Williams, officiating. The processional will leave from the home at 1:15 p. m. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Holiness Church Cemetery.
